The trout are transitioning into their winter pattern throughout Terrebonne parish. This past week and through the weekend we have whacked the fish every day! We're finding 14-18 inch fish deep in the interior canal systems in 6-8 ft of water. We are still whacking big numbers of trout in the lakes on the reefs and also in just 2ft of water in the marsh. We are not fishing birds as you don't have to rely on them to catch fish(and they are smaller fish with most under the 12 inch mark anyway). We have caught over 800 trout the past 4 days and most are averaging 14-16inches as they are improving in size every week. Reds have been plentiful too with nearly 100 caught this weekend. LSU,Cajun Pepper and Chicken On A Chain Bayou Chub Minnows continue to get the job done for us on a daily basis. Shiny Hiny cork rigs have been catching their share of fish for those of you that like to fish that style. Capts Gerald and Josh wore out the trout this morning enjoying a great early morning bite! Simply amazing to see the numbers of fish coming in down here right now!! The best fishing for trout has been from daybreak until about 8:30am on the reefs. Afterwards we have been relocating to deeper water to find the trout after shutting down on the reefs. If you're looking to bust up the reds or trout we have big numbers of both! Good luck fishing.
