Default 7-20 Bustin the Reds on the Mermentau

launched at daylight and started hitting the undersized reds right way. Picked through the undersized ones and ended up with a two man limit at 10:45. Caught and released a few more but my buddy was ready to head in. Called my other buddy who was in Rockefeller and he said he was on his way. Threw my stuff on the picnic table and waited for the 2nd trip of the day. Jumped in and jumped back on the reds. I couldn't keep anymore, but two boats ended up with 18 keepers.

All reds were caught on Gulp (Mantis Shrimp and Swimming Mullet) with the majority being fished 18" under a popping cork. The main colors were white and white and chartreuse. After checking the stomachs, I found that they were all full of small pogey.

Had a bull red take the gulp on a jighead too deep, so i cut the line and threw him in the box. Ended up finding the jighead and bait all of the way in his stomach when i cleaned him. The jighead was all scarred up from being in his crushers. Its amazing that he actually swallowed and digested my bait while in the ice chest.... We didn't break off on any reds, so it was definately the one i cut off. Had my exact H&H jighead, chart swimming mullet, and had 3" of power pro tied to it... Amazing!!!!

Also ended up with a big nasty on a cracked crab!!!!
