Best Places for bank fishing around New Orleans?

I live in New Orleans and want to take my son bank fishing, but I am not entirely sure where to go.

Ideally I would be interested in places with potential for reds/trout, but also acceptable would be place(s) more suitable for bass type fishing.

I did google around a bit, but most of the guides I saw were from 2009 or before, so I was hoping for a more updated list.

I think my limit would be a 1 hour drive from the city, but if a place is really nice then I could go further.
