Pond Hopping 5/17
Hit up one of my local secret spots this morning. This place is almost completely different than the one I fished earlier this week. Just about choked out with Lilly pads I figured the topwater bite would be on. Threw my trusty spook for a while with no luck. We tried a fluke, senko, scum frog, ribbit to no avail. Weightless plastic paddle tail swim bait was the ticket. Just under the surface early and slower and deeper as the day went on. Had 9 fish 12-17 inches that we kept. Threw back one 2.97 lbs and a few little bittys.
