He is probably referring to opening weekend of teal season being a big dove hunt. With guns going off in every direction and bb's raining down everywhere.
While I agree somewhat the locals and guides do get away from the crowds and hit the best spots. I spent allot of opening weekends of teal season down there as a kid and teenager. Good times camping and shooting and we normally did well but it wasn't a traditional teal hunt with decoys in a blind.
