I saw a gentleman launch his boat with his wife at Cal Pt.
Cranked good but never sparked.
Put it back on trailer and was checking it out in the parking lot.
I told him that I didn't want to be a smart *** but did he check the kill switch.
It was still in place but was not fully engaged.
Slight adjustment and he was back in business.
It's an easy problem to overlook.
I learned about a disconnected kill switch the hard way too.
I often fish by myself so I use my life preserver and kill switch all the time,
I would not want to get knocked out of the boat and have the boat run over me.
Just the other day, I saw a big piece of a wharf that had floated all the way across Prien, I can imagine that running over that early one morning could have knocked me out of the boat. Next time I see the Coasties running the Security Zones I intend to tell them about it if it is still there. High water could float it out again. Be careful out there.
