Default Powerpole blade 8 or 10?

I have searched the forums and seen some discussion but would like to hear from some 10' owners. I am planning on getting my dad a 10' powerpole blade for his 2008 Robalo R227 for his birthday.

I want to get a 10' for him, but he is concerned the 10' is too big and will stick up too much in shallow water. We typically fish in 2-6' inshore along intracoastal and lake Borgne out of Seabrook Marina.

We occasionally fish deeper, but not often. Would the 10' Blade be in the way a lot fishing in 3' of water? Does the size look ridiculous? I have only seen 8'. He does not have a jack plate.
