Today I switched gears and headed east away from my stomping grounds in Dularge. I picked up my customers at 5:00 and took a ride south to the islands. The weather forecast of 5-10 had quickly changed from 10-15 and it was a bit bumpy. We got to a spot at daylight and began chunking the Reflexion plastics and the fish were on time. The only problem was they were all short. I suspected that with the full moon all the big females had moved offshore and the little males were all that was left. So we took a ride to the beach and found an armada of boats already there catching speckled trout like there was no tomorrow. I couldn't get in the right spot and I certainly wasn't going to crowd anyone so I headed back north. We picked away at the smaller fish on the north side and gave the armada some time to limit out and went back. Most of the boats had left with their limit so we sat and waited in line to get on the fish. Everyone was still catching fish and thankfully a buddy of mine let me slide in on the action (thanks again Troy!). At first they wouldn't touch the plastic because everyone had them fired up on live bait. But it didn't take long to get them started. We commenced to put the whack on em. When the smoke cleared we had our 75 and got out of there.
