Trout fishing the past two days in Dularge has been absolutely incredible. The winds cooperated and the water cleaned up great making it fairly easy to catch on artificial. Usually this time of year live bait is required but the fish are attacking the double rigs. Rapid fast paced action describes the last two days. Customers Justin, Nate, and Greg Verret were down for the weekend with hopes to fill their coolers with prime speckled trout fillets. They now have 400. In the deeper waters off the coast, shrimp are still abundant and as far as you can see. Birds were the key to finding the fish this weekend but they and the shrimp move extremely fast. When we found a school the bite was hot but didn't last long as the fish were gone. A few times I was able to stick the power pole and sit on a school and catch awhile although the birds had left. Most of the action on Friday had dissipated by 10:00 but we had our limit by then. Today we were done with 100 for 7:45. As hot as it is we were thankful to be done so early. Capt. Austin ran the second boat of the group coming in with a solid catch as well. Great times and great people this weekend makes life good!
