Default Surfside, Texas Jetty and Surf 8/5

Hit the jetty today. Wind was up out of SW but pocket alongside the jetty blocked the wind and it was pretty flat. Using live shrimp under a cork and clear/chartreuse plastics, was able to stick 9 solid keeper specks and a nice white trout to put in "the bucket." Also some missed opportunities as some flopped off at the rocks. A few smaller trout, Rat Reds, Ribbonfish and bluefish were also caught. Macs were snipping lines as well. Bite died about 9 am.
Moved down to Access 2 knowing it was blown out to fish for trout, but perfect for catching some monster whiting/channel mullet (good eatin' )in the dropoffs with dead shrimp on the bottom. Caught and kept about a dozen along w/ a bonus pompano. Could have filled the ice chest but had to get back to the house. Great day to be out and score a few for the skillet.
