Default Grand Isle Mosquitoes

Heading down in a couple weeks. The fishing gear is ready, the house is rented, the extra money to supplement all the fish I won't catch is saved. I have one outstanding issue. My cousin and her husband are meeting us for "a taste of real Louisiana" but she is worried about them skeeters. How bad are they right now, and if it's pretty dry leading up to our arrival, will they at least be tolerable? I've been in Holly Beach in April with my Vietnam vet dad who said they weren't nearly that bad in the dense jungles of Southeast Asia. So any sort of south LA remedies, legends, lies that might work are welcome. My wife told me to go on that Saltycajun thing and ask for advice, and who am I to argue. Thanks.
