Default Two Days on the Lake (11/23 & 11/24)

Yesterday (11/23) I made a spur of the moment trip to Big Lake with my two boys (9 & 11 years old). They wanted to catch reds, so we headed down to the weirs after launching after 1:00. I rarely go there, but this trip wasn't about me. They caught many drum and a few reds on shrimp until daylight chased us back to the landing. We all had a great time.

Today (11/24) was a different day. Seeing Spots and I headed to the lake for specks with another friend. As W said, when the fog lifted at Turner's Bay, we realized that we were surrounded. I don't go fishing to be around that many people. I go to get away from them. We decided to head to West Cove with about 15 specks in the box. We stayed in West Cove the rest of the day finishing our limit of specks just after lunch. We stayed and played catch and release for several more hours. It was a great day to be on the water, and we were in no hurry to go home. We finished with almost our limit of reds too. Fish were caught on many baits, but mainly She Dogs and Tsunami Swim Baits. Water was beautiful in West Cove.

No pictures from either day or almost any other fishing trip that I have ever been on because I can't seem to stop fishing long enough to take pictures.

I'm hitting the Cocodrie area (Lake Boudreaux) later this week. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone.
