Default Vernon Lake Report 4-20

Being at Fort Polk, I fish this lake frequently. This past winter the LDWF did their 7 year drawdown for improvements and management. Since the lake has filled up in January I have fished it at least once a month but truly closer to once or twice a week. The water since the fill has stayed dirty to muddy as the loose sediment hasn't had a chance to settle with all the high winds and rain we have had so far. Either way, the fish are there and biting. I made a short solo trip last Thursday and caught my biggest fish for this lake and lost a few more to weak hook sets. I went back out that evening and picked up another good one. Not sure on the weight on the first one but guess 4-5 lbs.
