First Split Report

Well the first split treated me pretty good ending with 233 total in 11 days hunted. Started off slow last Thrusday and picked up as the week went along and began to tail off again the latter part of last week. Our best hunts was 24 with 10 mallards on Monday and then on Wednesday we ended up with 36 with just a handfull of mallards. Only advice I can really give is hunt late the mallards we killed were all shot after 11:30 even shot on a bunch as late as 1:30. All in all it was a pretty good start to the season considering all the bad reports I have been hearing. Hopefully we get some cold weather during the split and it pushes some new birds in.
