Default First Big Boar of 2010

Went run the dogs in Roberts Cove this morning on the Rimmer farm. Had recent intel that the hogs had moved in again, so it was time to run them out. These hogs have been run over and over so they know the routine and we were able to set up on an ambush point before releasing the dogs. Should have put more hunters out, and only had one "shooter" when about 20 hogs almost ran over him.

He was able to take out several shoats, but they were long gone by the time we got back around with the dogs. While we were converging on the scene, one lone dog struck a boar, then all the other dogs joined in and ran this ugly, very mean boar right by us. Even after being pumped full of lead, he managed to cut three dogs, two severely. He won't be cutting any more dogs anytime soon. It was a short hunt since we had to get them out the woods and medical care.

These little bad a** dogs will bounce back quick and be at them again in a week or so!
