I concur, well said...

i drove a dodge 1-ton and it was just "OK". the interior looked cheaply made and wasn't as "ergonomic" as chevy. i've had a ford 250 and put 300k miles on it. but at the end of the day, i like the chevy interior best, the duramax is a proven/sound engine and the allison tranny is good too.

the dodge cummins could probably pull the bumper of either ford or chevy. but i just don't have need to do that very often.

you touched on the basis of my question. i've been told that dealers will come $10-12k off of msrp, but if invoice is only $37.8k...not too sure. i expect the dealer to make $1-$1.5k on the deal. i just don't want to be the sucker who let them make $5k on the deal. i was hoping somebody else had bought a 2010 lately so i could find out what they paid.

Actually, the new '11 Ford (with the new 6.7L Ford-built diesel) is the highest in horsepower, torque, and towing capacity. I'm dying to test drive one.

Wow, I hadn't read about that yet. However, an extra 7hp at 200RPM higher translates to a draw. The Ford is still rated to tow more. And, unlike the Duramax, the Powerstroke will last beyond 100k miles.

IT'S NOT A POWERSTROKE, it's FORD produced. meaning untested. no history. better watch out.

what is the warranty on the new ford diesel?

does FORD have an ALLISON transmition?

Nope, it has the slightly better TorqShift, with better tow gearing (the reason the Ford tows significantly more than the Chebby). Other than that, it's equivalent to the Allison. I call the Allison the TorqShift Jr.

I just sold one last week, it will be here in about 4 weeks. Drove a 6.7L Lariat 4x4 the other day. It was freaking fast, and quiet as a gas engine.

That's what happens when you don't put any fuel in it.

I've been reading some posts from people who have driven both the new Chevy and the new Ford, and it sounds like there are two awesome trucks on the market right now. Dodge is behind the 8-ball, as usual.
