When laying the felt paper..........how much over lap should there be?

How should it be nailed down?

at least 2 inches check into synthetic felt it holds up much better in the weather and wind . ive blacked in big houses houses and 6-8 months later come back and still no shingles and the synthetic felt is still up there strong

nail in this " 5 pattern "






and 6-8 " o.c. on the edges
