I never kilt my garfish till I got home.
Leave them alive and the meat last longer in the sun.
Just leave them in the bottom of the boat and throw a
wet grass sack over them. They stay live till you get
home.

We have some 150qt ice chests to put them in. We tried leaving them in the boat somewhere, but the bastids with reek havoc in ya boat when they decide to start flopping around. One like I had about 5 foot long can spread crap around in ya boat in seconds. They always seen to want to start flopping when you leave ya tacklebox unsnapped or open. So now, mine get kilt while they still in the water.
