I think at one time Falcon use to get their blanks at one time from Shikari blanks. I built a few rods out of these blanks. They are light and sensitive on bad side didn't take much for them to break.
Right now I buy the cheapest blank I can get my hands on. Put micro guides on them. Total cost is around $40 to $50. If blank breaks I just take everything off and put it on another cheap blank. Get my stuff from Swampland tackle in Houma or when in Houston Fishing tackle unlimited out of Houston I find the el cheapo blanks work better than a $100 store bought rods. Got a bad habit of breaking the tips and not worth investing too much money in a rod that I will break. |
