curado is best in my opinion for that price range... as for a rod one of my favorite trout rods I have is a st croix premier 7' crankbait rod.. but the rod you buy depends on what type of fishing you will be doing. By that i mean: 1st wading or boat, 2nd live or artificial, 3rd deep or shallow

X5 .. the curados are all i fish and i sell piles of them at the tackle box. shimano makes some of the best reels for the money on the market. they are light, cast very well and hold up under some of the harshest conditions. you wont be disappointed with a shimano cu200e7.
