No place to mount those on a yak, west marine has an anchor light that probably suctions to the back. My main concern is the front of the boat.
Going to call LWLF and try to find out, will let ya'll know what they say. Only requirement for yaks at night is an anchor light with 360 degree visability. PFD are required but you are not required to have one on unless the yak has propulsion by means other than paddle. Last edited by Raymond; 05-17-2011 at 02:00 PM. |

I came within 50 ft of hitting a yak in Big Lake at night last year, running about 35 mph. Didn't see him till it was almost too late.

Legally all you have to have is a flash light to signal boats. Me, I have an led stern light that telescopes from 1' to 5' so the air and mudboats see me.

If you are using a milk crate with rod holders, you can trim a pool noodle down so it fits in a holder. Then get a 5' piece of 1/2" or 3/4" PVC and attach one of those lights to the PVC. Jam the PVC in the pool noodle hole and it should fit tightly.

Good idea. Or you can just tie-wrap the PVC to the milk crate that way you can still use the rod holder.

This is it.
Mine is about 5 years old and still kicking. Bright enough that it lights the kayak up. http://www.cabelas.com/catalog/produ...e-001b2166c2c0 |

Yes. In my other Hurricane I had a plug in the tankwell and kept a small battery in my crate. This powered the light and a 5" Lowrance in the dash.

All you need is one of the deer feeder batteries from Academy
