It may be the water temp. (To hot) Find out what temp they live in. I was told put ice in a zip lock bag. To cool the water.

I was gonna say that. I made one out of a 48qt marine ice chest that works awesome.

Yeh gotta keep the water cool. I just throw some ice in there out the icechest every few hours.

kept 2 dozen cacahoes alive and well from 0630 to 1900 when we got back in baton rouge. a fish tank...

That's the ticket!!
It works for me.
Also may want to get some of those Shrimp Saver tablets from Academy. Cost about $3.50. They seem to help too. I use 5 gal. bucket w/ an aerator and lid. Does well for me.
