Is the pump running and just not pumping or is it not coming on at all? First thing you need to do is check all your connections, from the switch to the pump. Get a 12v test light, make sure you are getting power to the pump. It could be a fuse or the pump could be bad

I think you have the 1800. I have the 1810. It has 2 jump seats in the back and a big livewell between them. My prob is the front one. I think the pump may be burn up. Gonna look into it this weekend. If you find the problem before please let me know. Thanks.

Had a similar problem. The impeller had some build up on it and wasn't spinning, some WD-40 and a little manual spinning and it works like new.

Don't do that! You'll have wd-40 killing your bait.......

First thing I would do is check fuses under the console and look for a burnt one.

I've seen the plastic pipe the pump is mounted to break. When you turn the pump on all your doing is filling the bilge......be careful! Many boats have sunk because of this

Salt water is very hard on electrical stuff on a boat. Fuses will get burned, connections will not make contact and wires will break. The problems happen often as the boat get older. The more you use the boat.... the better for the pumps. If I don't use my boat for a while [a week] I will turn on the 2 pumps to be sure they are working. Also on the way home from saltwater fishing, I stop at a freshwater launch and put the boat and trailer in the water [with the boat plug out] to run the outboard and pumps. This also washes the trailer. If a water pump freezes up..... sometimes you can take it apart and free it up...... but you can bet that it will freeze up again shotly. Get a new pump or you will keep having problems. A volt meter is a big help to trouble shoot electrical problem. If you are not getting power to the motor.... it won't work. Look for corrosion at all connections......where the wires connect to the motor wires, at the fuse holder [breaker], battery. To check just the motor..... run 2 wires [+ and -] from the battery to the motor. Jumper cables will work.... just be careful not to touch the two ends together while the other ends are connected to the battery. |

All wires and connectios were good. I have to get a new pump. I guess I froze up or burnt up. Wonder how much that's gonna hit me for.
