Ville Platte exit! Outside of Opelousas heading north the speed limit is now 75mph so you dont see them much anymore.

I took my little girl to a birthday party one time at her friends house. Her dad was a BRPD and was dressed in uniform cause he had to work that evening. When he was leaving he said bye everyone! Got to go violate some citizen rights! I want to kick him in his nads as he was laughing. I have met some bad and good on the hwy and I speak to them all the same. Yes sir or no sir. Just depends on how his day is going if you will get treated with the same respect. Moma always said life is like a box of chocolates!

You get caught texting on the road and some of them are wanting to give you a body cavity search.

Dang, I just watched it too. Its sad to say, but that is the mentality of a lot of cops out there. They are the only ones who should be able to carry a gun because they are special and everyone else is just a stupid idiot. Really makes all the decent officers out there look bad.

Yep, that's all they have to do!!!!!! Pick on people w/ Texas plates. No crime fighting, no answering 911 calls, no responding to traffic accidents, just look for vehicles with Texas plates.

I drive all over for my job and my company truck has Texas plates and have yet to get stopped. I guess the reason is that I obey the laws to the best of my ability. Maybe you should try it.

Hustler, I am sorry for your friends situation and if it happened the way you say it did, then it is wrong...Period...and the civil process with rectify the situation. There are always two sides to a story then the truth somewhere in the middle.

As far as your quoted comment, allow me to retort....I was not a nerd in school, in fact, I was a little bad azz that knew everything about everything...knew my roadside rights to search and seizure and even told a few cops what was going and not going to happen....THEN, I GREW UP! and like FFF I wanted to do something that made me feel good about making positive changes....THEN....Life showed me that when you are in law enforcement or any other public service...You are damned if you do and damned if you don't....and you starve like a church mouse because of what they pay....So I left that....but what never left me was the respect for them...knowing what they have to deal with day in and day out and work thier guts out just to make ends meet....and are rarely received well by society....Because most people think just like what is on this board...This happened to me so I hate them all...they are ALL crooked....That is why...But no, I didn't take it as disrespect, just fun conversation.

I was wondering if there were any current officers or former officers commenting on this thread, well said Sir. I am a reserve officer and I do the job for FREE as a road deputy, so I don't often comment either way in these types of threads because I am bias....... every situation is different and you just never know what you got, so most officers are on the defense 98% of the time, it's not a bad attitude, just making sure they get home to their families after shift is over!

well said frank as a former police officer of 12 years i totally get what u saying. When i was a officer if i searched someone's vehicle it was for a reason i just didn't pull someone over and decide that the vehicle needed to be searched just for the hell of it. Even when i pulled someone who had been drinking a little i would let them call a ride or sometimes would even give them a ride myself. It's was all about the attitude. Can't tell you how many times i pulled someone over and wasn't even going to give them a ticket but there mouths talked them right into. I am a firm believer in give respect to get respect and i always treated people with respect unless they made the decision that it wasn't going to happen that way.
