2500 Stratic CI4 loaded with 12 lb. mono. and 1/4 oz. jig head.
If I cast it too hard, I could sling every inch of line off the reel.
Scary to see just the knot on the bottom of the reel. If'n a big
un got me at that point, no mo line on that reel.

Put you some 10lb braid on there and solve that problem.
