Looking at Duck hunting the Kaplan area

Yes if you notice you have a heck of a lot less rice being planted in SW LA. You are starting to see more cow pasture and sugar cane then rice. I am sure if you border certain marshes with a rice field and keep a certain amout of water and field plowed you can kill some birds...but the average rice field blind/hunt has to bank on teal season and after the first week of the big duck season hunt only during a front. When the sun is out at our lease it could be cold as hell you still do not see a duck! Last year I bet I spec fished 10X more than duck hunted on the blue bird days unles I got to bum a marsh hunt.
