Fishmaster, what is the thinking (purpose) behind tagging the specks and have you been called very often by people who have caught fish you tagged?

a cool thing to do plus it helps out the people who study these fish. i have a spread sheet with all the fish i tagged (kinda like a fishing log book) that way i have a better idea where the fish are for my next fishing trip ! i also have plenty of fish in the freezer at all times. i dont tag as much as some guys but i try to tag about 100 a year ! in the past 3 year i had 3 recaptures ! i tagged a 4 lb trout jan 28-11 it was caught again about 4 mile south of where i tagged it on july 28-11, it 2 lbs heaver.it had an average travel of 336 miles in the 181 days in between. i tagged a 5lb trout,3 days later it was caught again by a sc members mother ! little cool things like this i enjoy !
