Don't soak in a bucket of water. You don't want water
inside the reel Light spray to get salt dissolved back into the water. Then another light spray to rinse it all off. A good coat of wax on rod will protect it too. Reelman in Bell City said to just wipe off with something like 50/50 Simple Green and water. No hard spray of water or it will get into the reel.
