I run an '02 225 opti with just over 500 hrs on it. The only problem i had that wasn't my fault was a pinion gear came apart and lower unit exploded, but it was under warranty.
I run nothing but the Mercury/Quicksilver Synthetic Blend that cost $30 something per gallon. No complaints whatsoever with the outboard. Ronnie
