After 2006 when they came out with the new body style the quality has went down alot. My dad has a 2010 avalanche and he had problems with the speakers and power windows. My 1994 silverado is still kickin tail and taking names.

If just your highs are working your crossover probably went out. If not make sure your speakers are tight the terminals might be touching the metal in the door and shorting out.
