How about the maintenance on the yammy? Merc says less maintenance than the yamaha.

dont see where merc is getting less maintenance. both are fuel injected fourstrokes. you still have to change oil after so many hours and lower unit oil after so many hours. as far as water pumps,spark plugs, filters its all the same. mercury might say you can go 25 hours on a oil change instead of 20 on the yamaha. little things like that so they can say theirs is better. the only motor id buy from merc right now would be a optimax. they are great motors but the fourstrokes arent that great imo.
