The Lafayette Parish Sheriff's office is investigating the death of a two month old baby. Deputies say the child was left in a vehicle for a period of time, and died due to heat exhaustion. They are not releasing any more information about the incident at this time. We will keep you updated as we get more information.

Some people are just sick. I don't know if it's drugs are pure ignorance, but that poor baby never had a chance.

Belay my last.... KATC just updated the story that the father forgot to drop the baby off at daycare before going to work. The daycare called about the baby later in the day when he realized that the baby was in the vehicle the entire day.

I cannot even begin to imagine the guilt he must be going through right now. I know I dropped my son off this morning but I still went check my truck after reading this. This is such a tragic accident that could happen to anybody. We all need to take the time to realize what the most important things in our life are. You can replace a job, but never a child.
My prayers go out to this family.

Well said Matt. I can't even think about the horror that family is going through. Maybe we all need to stop, as Ratdog and Matt suggested, and take the time to be thankful for our children reminding them how much we do love them.
