my dad used to run about 30 or 40 ranging from 4-6'ters. He mainly fished in bayou decaine and nezpique' (spelling?) around Gennings. It was some deep bayous. he ony ran them in the late fall till spring time, when the water was cold, cuz he would only check them once a week. In the later years, he never really used bait, they would just swim in and fill it up. Usually had some good currents during the winter also. Main thing, and Im sure you know already, is make sure you set it the right way with the current.

you can do it with hoop nets. Before my dad quit, he would bring home hundreds of pounds of cats in 1day of checking. It got to be almost too much trouble to clean.lol
