the chemical called polaris works wonders on aquatic weeds. Just cant get it anywhere though.hehehe The 2-4 d works really well, though. We spray quite a few acres of swampland every year to get rid of those hyacinths in our swamp.

Glyphosate will kill hyacinth easily, and brands are approved for aquatic use. The only thing is that when it dies and starts to decay, the plant removes oxygen from the water which will cause a fish kill if you have fish in there.
There is a machine that will remove flotant, hyacinth, and other weeds. There was a vendor at the Lafayette Outdoor Expo that performs this, think it was Big Woods Preserve or something like that. They will remove the floating vegetation and place it on the banks to dry out, then you just control it on your own once it starts to come back. |
