I work for Oceaneering.......my first 6 years I worked as an ROV Supervisor. Now I work in the Technical Dept and go offshore only when needed and I get to go to alot of rig, boats, etc.

I work supplying all of the rigs and boats that yall go on with the computers and navigation charts. When y'all move we get the call for the electronic charts, paper charts, and pubs. Also we swing compasses aboard the vessels. Just shipped out 284 foreign charts to a new noble drilling vessel. Fun correcting all those things.

I work for ExxonMobil as a senior Global Gaslift Tech. Work 28 and 28 going to a different country every hitch. I'm in the North Sea right now. Head home in morning. Then its off to Alaska next hitch. Have gottten to see places I would of never gotten to see on my own. Some great and a few I hope never to see again. LOL

I was there this past Thursday and Friday removing equipment from a platform that was just brought in from offshore, looks like y'all got a lot of work going on.

Regional HSE manager for offshore construction company. Only go offshore about once a month for day trips. Most of the time it is a Shell or BP platform. Currently have 12 safety techs under me looking for 6 more.

All depends on what you can weld.
We pay somewhere between 21.00 and 24.50 DOE. Now keep in mind these guys work around 100 hours a week on a 14/7 schedule overtime after 40. All living expenses are covered while you are out there. Your average skilled craftsman offshore will make between 75k and 100k a year working 1/3rd of the year. |
