If not purchasing a .22lr, may I suggest the Ruger LCR .38 or something similiar. Small and lightweight, and reduces the chance of FTF or jams. It is hammerless so it doesn't get caught up or snag on something when trying to retieve. Recoil is very manageble and conceals real easy.
