Thank you guys. Great information. I do plan on setting out 1-2 set ups in rod holders. My dad and I plan on fishing a good bit this trip, but we would like to get a little time with the wives and kids on the beach, and I figure that would be a good way. Hopefully we'll be building a sandcastle and hear that line start peeling off. I think I'm going to get a 7-7.5 foot rod, and one around 8-8.5 feet, just to see what I prefer. I think a big key will be watching and learning on this trip. Is the marina when you enter Grand Isle sufficiently stocked to where we can get most of the tackle we will need? I have a lot of stuff, but am sure a decent bit will be rendered useless when I actually see people that know what they are doing.
