i know they WERE catching but the salinity went from OK to NONE. I was wondering if it would go up but winds and river stage do not look good.

The trout are probably still there. I wouldn't think they are travelling at least 12 miles to the pass everytime the water gets nasty. The west side of the bay still has 5.0ppt, I think I read earlier. I rememeber one time Dad and I went this time of year, and the water was gross and we caught about 20 specs between 2-5lbs and the salinity gauge at the point was reading 0.5ppt. We had to tip our baits with shrimp and drag the bottom, SLOWLY

If we can get North to NW winds going for a day or two fish can be caught on the outside reefs. However the prevailing S to SE winds brings in the muddy water.

salinity is better in the western section of vb as compared to the hammock into E cote blanche. Might be worth a try around hell hole and the artificial reefs in that area. River seems to be holding steady for the next 4 days at around 16ft. Maybe we can get a falling river; 11ft seems to be the magic number for salinities to improve. Some one needs to pull the plug!
