Default Kill Switch Question

My dad got in a bind last week. He was fishing Cocodrie and couldn't get his boat started on his way back in. After a bunch of trouble shooting, it turns out that his switch wasn't being fulling extended by his lanyard. He finally figured out a way to shim it,but he was asking if there was a way to disable the kill switch temporarily if if couldn't be opened. My question is if you pull the housing out and tie the wires together, would that disable it?

Most kill switches are an open switch. Just disconnecting the wires to the switch would disable the switch. Twisting them together would disable motor by grounding circuit.

If you unplug both then it won't work. 100% sure! Happened to me. Hot wire has to still be inline but ground can be unplugged. I tied em together... Nothing... Unplugged both... Nothin... Unplugged ground... Fired right up.

depends on the motor... my tohatsu is an open circuit.. just unplug both and its fine... connection has to be made to kill the engine.
