Most kill switches are an open switch. Just disconnecting the wires to the switch would disable the switch. Twisting them together would disable motor by grounding circuit.

If you unplug both then it won't work. 100% sure! Happened to me. Hot wire has to still be inline but ground can be unplugged. I tied em together... Nothing... Unplugged both... Nothin... Unplugged ground... Fired right up.
