I use the sound dampening ear muffs. They amplify up to certain decibel then shut off all sound when it reaches that certain decibel. They work great and only 30-40$. Can't remember the name brand but I believe the name starts with a C

Best investment I have ever made, not sure if my brand either, but post it when I get to the truck. Only draw back is if you have them turned up high it will give you wind noise when it's windy.

I also use the ear muffs. Enhance your hearing and shut off loud sounds. They are more comfortable than a game ear and they protect both ears. Also keep your ears warm and those cold days with north wind busting. Paid $60 for mine from Academy.

No not at all. Y would you think they get in the way. If I have more face and head hear on than usual I don't put the head piece on my head more like around my neck. Only issue I have with them is sometimes when it's sunny they get a bit warm

I have the 60$ walkers from gander mountain, I won't even step out my truck to shoot a pig without them.
2x as them getting hot on your ears when it's worm out but great for the cold and it's not to bad in the summer either. |

I would really like to try the smaller ones that fit behind your ear but man those are expensive and i'm afraid that the cheaper ones will not work so well...
bgizzle I know you say the muffs dont get in the way but I really dont see how they can be comfortable in a duck blind situation...it just seems like they would be bulky and awkward. IDK...I just know that I dont want to have hearing problems later so I want to do something...and another problem with the smaller expensive ones, the ones that are under $200 only come one per pack! That doesnt make sense to me... |

I've been using the walkers game ear power muffs for a long time now and love them. They do get a little warm at times but like the other guys said they keep your ears warm on those cold days. I've also never had any issues with them getting in my way weather I'm dove, duck, goose or even deer hunting.

These are the ones I use. Been having them for 2 years and they work great. I wear them every duck hunt. You get used to them. They aren't bad. When I can still hear when I'm 50 and all my boys I hunt with that don't wear protection can't, it's gonna be worth it.

Best decision I ever made. ESP ear plugs!! Look them up. www.espamerica.com.
You can hear the calls in the blind, but not the gun noise!! |
