For the first time EVER, I agree with w. What makes a "qualified trainer" a "qualified trainer"? Self declaration? Is there a trainer qualification school out there?

According to the AKC the only qualification that is needed to be a professional retriever trainer is that you receive money or goods to train a dog. Some people supplement their hunting expenses and train 1 or 2 gun dogs part time for local hunters and some people get neck deep into it and have 20+ dogs and travel all over the country running trials and training full time.
