![]() Cant decide Dularge or Leeville. I know more places in Dularge but it will be packed with people. Less people in Leeville but I know less about the area. What ya think? No matter what I'll be fishing!! |

With the cold weather just put in at Catfish Lake in Golden Meadow. You can run south towards Leeville if you need to. There are lots of deep blocked off canals in that area. I hit the openings when the tide is dropping and usually do real well. That is my plan for when I go back home from work. Last year I started out in Leeville and ended up heading North to Catfish Lake. It's much more consistent this time of the year. I really like the Leeville area but why make the longer drive to Leeville when I usually end up running my boat back up to Golden Meadow? Also watch the tides. A falling tide later in the morning is best. Early fishing has never been to good for me there during the winter. Wait until the sun is up and its warming up a bit. Good Luck

Is golden meadow generally consistant bite all winter? Since V/B and Burns Point is winding down, I am looking to learn some new areas.
I like Dularge, but Golden Meadow is about the same distance for me. And I can stop by Collins Oysters also on the way home. Quote:

I can only speak for Leeville, Golden Meadow. I struggle more in Leeville this time of year. I find Golden Meadow more productive and is my go to area when it's cold. Since I know Leeville so well I usually start there but end up moving north to The Catfish Lake area. I've decided my next trip to just put in in Golden Meadow and start there. |
