Default Fastest route to lake decade

I know the going through the canal would be the obvious choice but is it possible to get there from lake mechant? There's a few areas on the map that look iffy. Particularly the area between lake mechant and bayou decade.

If I'm not mistaken you have to go through a marsh that's iffy. One blazed trail in and out. Not 100% but believe so

The routes in between Decade and Mechant are very shallow unless you know exactly where to run. I'd never run it because I have no clue. Especially in the winter. Best just to launch at Falgout marina and you're right there.

I remember vaguely that you come into marsh and take a right I believe lined up straight on with canal and get on it and stay on it until you are in canal

If you not sure right now don't do it, 3 days of North winds you may be spending the night in the Marsh with a burnt up motor. You better off putting your boat on the trailer and going back to Falgout Canal Marina.

From Mechant go into Raccourci bayou into Raccourci bay then go across bay into bayou Decade then right to Lake Decade. It's very shallow across Rac bay so be careful. Been 3 years since I have been there so things could have changed.

3 day north wind...TRUST ME when I say stay in the MIDDLE of very well known canals! About this time a few years ago, I got to push pole and, drag my boat out of some really nasty stuff!

Yeah I think I'm gonna play this one safe and go through falgout canal. As much as I love throwing up a muddy rooster tail, I'll have the kiddos with me.

Yep, if you go, make sure you have some cash in your wallet to pay the mud/air boat tow out of raccouci!!! LOL

People that don't know the area get stuck every year! Why would you go that far south right now anyway?

We usually launch a jugs and fish the lakes or sauveur. Never fished de cade I didn't know if there was some specific route other than motoring (or relaunching) up to the falgoust canal
