Default rod choice/selection?

What do you look for when buying a rod for your type of fishing whether it be freshwater or saltwater.

Tip action Stiff flimsy etc?

Light-medium light medium heavy, heavy?

lenght 6'8 7' 7'6.
what to do/look for in a rod for your type of fishing.

Im mainly a saltwater fisherman. So specks reds flounder is what im fishing for

I know a little bit but would like to know more!

Make sure the eyes line up on the rod..... U would b surprised how many rods have crooked eyes.

It depends on your preference and what you want the rod for.

Med action with a fast/xtra fast tip for topwater, rattletraps, etc

Most like a med/lite with a fast/xfast tip for plastics, wacky worms, etc.

Med heavy for pitching/flipping
