When you head south, go down a couple miles and there is a big canal to the left and there is a weir 100 yards down there on the left, thats where we were and there were lotsa gar rolling. If you continue down that canal a couple miles there is a little inlet to the right and I have seen some trophy gar in there as well.

You may do a search on here as I remember someone drew up some maps for the weirs and named all of them.

You are not supposed to leave any fish behind if you castnet, but folks do it. The game wardens will sometimes be in plain clothes. Watched a guy last weekend purposely hook an alligator and actually got the thing up to the bank My child enjoyed watching it, so
