When you have a conviction in life ,The boats and trucks and dollar signs don't matter. I have been against CCA for 10 years now. If i catch a trophy trout i will mount it. if i catch a tagged red i will take a picture and eat the fish. My principles mean more to me than any prize. But ,that's just me.

I understand your point. I agree completely. I know all the guys say screw them. If you catch a tag, clean it and cook it. But, realistically? That would be hard to swallow.

If you don't want to give your money to the CCA that is 100% your right, but why would you take the opportunity for someone to win something away from them by killing or removing a tagged red????

The CCA contest does not own the fish and cannot reserve it for their members by putting a tag on it. I'd take it home and fillet it like any other legal redfish.

Catching a legal fish is "dibbs." Tagging a fish for a contest is not.

Why not? MG's argument was exactly on point. CCA doesn't own tagged fish. If they want that to happen they need to build a really big F'n fish tank.

well I can only speak for myself and say that by taking that fish I reduce those who gain by supporting an organization that does nothing for my benefit and ONLY works against the interests of recreational anglers in Louisiana.

one less person taking pictures with their bribe from CCA to get others to send them money to hurt fishermens interests and also one less picture to show joining star pays off.

if I didn't want to keep the fish I would pull the STAR tag out and throw the no longer tagged fish back.

Would anyone like to start side pot for fish cought by non CCA members.

Rules are can not be member or in CCA turny . 20 dollar entry fee paied to salty Cajun . And most tags takes pot.

What are thoughts? We do this and stop the squabbling and it will be a real protest. CCA would have to take notice and we won't be left out of prize money possibility .

Redfish taste good. No reason other than that. When I fish or hunt I'm in full blown predator mode. If its legal and eats good it dies. It's just that simple with me. Others may have their own views.
