Not a good feeling... While unhooking a redfish a couple weeks ago I got a hook buried past the barb in my finger. Did a quick youtube search and was able to get the hook out on the boat. Make a loop with some flourocarbon leader and pass over the curve of the hook, push down on the shank of the hook, and have someone pull with one quick motion. Worked like a charm.

This is the way to get them out and keep fishing. Make sure to disinfect puncture after removing hook.
