Before 10 years or so ago it was thick like that in point aux chene. I use to fish a 3/8 ounce jig head no more than a foot under a cork with a 21-30 ct. shrimp tail threaded on. break the lil fins on the tail and put on tail first . The jig will punch through and after a few short pops they'll find it.
