If you get a 2 or 2.5 it will effect the ride. I don't care what people tell you.
It's a coil spacer so you are taking 2 or so inches out of the up travel of the coil. So when you hit a bump it can't rebound completely making it somewhat stiffer. It's not really bad and most people get over it quickly but it effects it none the less. If you put a 2.5 you may need to put a .5" shim block on the rear end to be completely level. I would think it had 0 to do with the shocks. I have a 1.5" on my f 150 and it it looks level not lifted. It didn't effect the suspension travel too much but it is slightly stuffer.
