The battle is a good reel, just not for salt water. After a few months the paint on mine started to flake off and shortly after the gears locked up and were too corroded to do anything with. The gears of the penn battle are made of pot metal. Penn offered to replace it, but I could not find my receipt. I received a Shimano Stradic as a gift, I would highly recommend it.
